Background:

Goserelin (Brand name Zoladex) is an injectable gonadotropin releasing hormone super-agonist (GnRH agonist), also known as a lutenizing hormone releasing hormone (LHRH) agonist. Goserelin acetate is used to suppress production of the sex hormones testosterone and oestrogen, particularly in the treatment of breast and prostate cancer.

Goserelin stimulates the production of the sex hormones testosterone and estrogen. However, these hormones are regulated by feedback loops. So paradoxically, after goserelin stimulates the production of sex hormones, the hormones are then suppressed by the body's feedback mechanisms.

Prostate cancer cells and some breast cancer cells are hormone-dependent, that is, they need hormone stimulation to grow. When the hormones are eliminated, the cancer cells are inhibited. Other indications were subsequently approved.

Kit application: CEK Goserelin is a 96 wells competitive immunoassay Kit. It can be applied for the analysis of Goserelin in serum, plasma, or tissue extracts in pharmcokinetics, peptide delivery studies and other purposes.
